I am currently working on my Master’s thesis, Benchmarking Statistical Downscaling Techniques, specifically targeting wind speed data in Africa. Variations in wind speed distribution across different resolution gridded datasets further affect the prediction of expected wind power capacity. The project aims to evaluate and compare different downscaling methods applied to varying resolution datasets for computing data on finer grids.
